Note: After modification, remove phpinfo.php file from public_html directory. Because it will expose security vulnerabilities.

A php.ini file contains directives for controlling many PHP settings. You can set up one or multiple custom php.ini files to define how your website functions. For example, you might have a custom file in your /home/username/public_html directory for your web site’s main pages, and a separate custom file in your /home/username/public_html/images directory for your web site’s image files.

  1. I tried this for installing magento 2 memory increase with no luck.

I did find a solution if you need a memory increase for magento 2 do as follows:

    run: nano /opt/alt/php71/link/conf/alt_php.ini

Go to bottom change memory to 768M then Close

go back to cpanel and file manager and open htaccess then change both memory inputs to 768m and close

  3. Thanks, it works for me! So, it need to change permissions in File Manager to php.ini file copied. Unmark "World (public)" permission. For your own security.

  4. You could make this process shorter if you're already connected to the ssh like you do in this video. Just type "php –ini" and then "nano {whatever_the_location_is}"
